Noblegarden Cometh, And It’s Darkmoon Faire Time Again!

Dude! It’s April 1st, which means a lovely April Fools’ day gag from ye old Blizz. I’d love it if it were something WoW related, but I’d bet cheap wow gold they’re gonna take the opportunity to promote Overwatch or sumn. I’m writing this post a little early, so the gag’s not up yet. Buncha other folks have already released theirs so I’m surprised we haven’t got some troll patch notes or the like.

Anyway, that doesn’t mean this month isn’t chock-full of content after a slightly barren March. The Noblegarden Feast is up first, starting April 6th and ending April 13th. It’s a little weird that Horde folks are now taking part in this, but whatevs, more content, right? The PIG’s gonna be sure to find ALL those coins, candy, eggs and goodies… otherwise I’ll just look up a FAQ and get ‘em, what, it’s Easter? I got REAL bacon to chow down on, you dig?

Besides, I’m probably gonna be more invested in my favorite regular wow event, Darkmoon Faire. This month it runs from April 5th to 12th, so there’s some weird overlap with Noblegarden, but it’s not a big deal. Location as usual is Darkmoon Island, just outside Thunder Bluff and Stormwind.

If you’re savvy, you can get a whole heapin’ buncha rewards too. Blizzard’s promising a crayzee seventeen different battle pets, a few of which I don’t have yet. There’s the Darkmoon Tonk, Darkmoon Zeppelin, and Darkmoon Monkey. Two mounts are up for grabs too: Darkmoon Dancing Bear and Swift Forest Strider. Replica armor sets for all classes, but hey, you probably already have the Lightforge set for Paladins, right? There are also of course a TON of heirloom items and heirloom upgrades.

After that? Children’s Week, from April 27th all the way through May 4th. Some people don’t dig Children’s week, but they’re grumps. Yeah, the orphan model looks tres creepy, but the quests are fun, and heck it’s kinda cool that the Blizz acknowledges orphans and gets gamers to do something cool for ‘em, even if it is only virtual. I’m all for it. You can get started on the orphan quests by heading to the Orphan Matrons in Stormwind, Orgrimmar, Shattrath City or Dalaran. Do a good deed, get paid. Well, not paid, you get six achievements, the character title “Matron” or”Patron,” and up to10 different battle pets. Not bad for a day’s work, eh?

And that’s yer month of WoW. Of course there’s The Stranglethorn Fishing Extravaganza, which takes place all over Stranglethorn Vale, every Sunday from 2pm. Gotta be honest, the PIG prefers BACON, not fish. That’s yer lot for this week. I’m outtie 5-thou.

Trove Community Invited To Try Their Hand At Boss Design

Trion Worlds today addressed their community of Trovians as they announced the launch of an exciting new competition event which will see the Trove community to reach the most devious parts of their imagination as they come together to create the new boss, a Shadow Titan. The Shadow Titans are the biggest, baddest, meanest behemoths to ever hit the world of Trove, found mastering minions on their own personal floor in the dreaded Shadow Tower.

The team hope to let the community have complete creative freedom when creating the new Shadow Titan for Trove but they did lay out some basic guidelines to get your creative juices flowing.
Take some time and think about the kind of Shadow Titan you’d like to see knocking your block off. What should it look like? What is it’s name? What three abilities should it use?
Through Friday, July 24th, post your ideas in this official Community-Created Boss forum
We’ll go through your ideas and pick some top contenders, then give you the chance to vote for a winner
Whichever tyrannical, terrifying Shadow Titan you select will be in game and pwning face in before you know it
They then added that although the community has the freedom to create whatever they wish, the developers are restricted by game mechanics and design so final entries may have to be changed to fit with current game design choices.

Wasteland 2 Director’s Cut coming this summer, trailer inside

Wasteland 2 is getting an updated, enhanced version this summer, in the form of Wasteland 2 Director’s Cut.

First, the thing that is arguably most important: yes, it’s free to everyone who already owns Wasteland 2. The people who have Wasteland 2 may relax. This isn’t a Scholar of the First Sin situation where you’re going to be asked to pay a fair chunk of change to upgrade.

Secondly: new stuff! It’s running Unity 5 and has updated graphics. It has a Perks & Quirks system for more character depth (judging by the trailer, for instance, you might take the “Fainting Goat” quirk, with the benefit that “When an enemy scores a Critical Hit on you, you have a 50% chance of fainting, causing them to miss” but the drawback of “When fainting, you miss your next turn.”) There are Precision Strikes for additional combat tactics, whatever they are. There’s an expanded voiceover with over 8,000 new recorded dialogue lines. There’s a redesigned UI and controller support. There’s “more”.

Wasteland 2 Director’s Cut is due in late-summer 2015, and will be a free update to everyone who owns the game.

Humble Bundle visits the Borderlands

The latest Humble Bundle is offering you tickets to the Borderlands of Pandora, for a low, low price.

Paying $1 or more nets you Borderlands, plus its three DLC packs – The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned, Mad Moxxi’s Underdome Riot, and The Secret Armory of General Knoxx.

Opt to pay more than the average (currently $4.82) and you’ll also get Borderlands 2, the two character add-on packs (Krieg the Psycho and Gaige the Mechromancer), the Creature Slaughterdome add-on, a 75% off coupon for Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel! on the Humble Store, and “more coming soon”.

Finally, opt to pay $15 or more and you’ll get all of the above, plus the Borderlands 2 Season Pass, the Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 2, and Headhunter 5: The Son of Crawmerax. Oh, and a 25% off coupon for merchandise on the 2K Store.

And, uh… yeah, okay, I think this is a pretty solid bundle, whatever tier you opt for. I’m not going to comment on the Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel discount (which drops it to about £7.50) because I haven’t played it yet, and the original Borderlands had a bit of a crap PC port so it’s probably too worthwhile just for that (although for $1, it’s hard to complain).

But! $5 for Borderlands 2 and its extra characters is rather good, and paying ten dollars to get yourself the game’s four main expansions is also a decent option. I can’t remember how much all of this would’ve been in the just-passed Steam sale, but if you haven’t already picked up Borderlands 2, I suspect this is one of the cheaper ways of getting this much stuff.
